The trackway was estimated at over 200 prints with a long stride. Photos taken two days after the tracks were made showed only large round impressions because warm weather had melted detail.

The witness was driving slowly along a ridge-line dirt road during a boundary survey at midday when a black figure was spotted among trees. Initially mistaken for a stump and then a bear, the figure was judged too thin and tall to be a bear. As the vehicle closed to close range, the figure sprinted across the road on two legs and disappeared into trees.

The witness and her daughter were driving on a remote dirt road about six miles off the main road when they noticed very large barefoot-like footprints in snow. Late on a winter night the witness took the dog outside and saw a large hair-covered figure standing near a small building about 20-25 feet away. The witness and figure observed each other while the dog wanted to go inside and a strong foul smell was present. After briefly looking away at a noise, the witness went inside for a handgun, and on returning the figure was gone though sounds remained in the woods. A large footprint was found the next day.

The witness, a police officer on midnight patrol, was driving back toward town when he noticed movement in the roadside ditch. Moments later a hair-covered figure ran across the road in front of his vehicle from west to east, visible only from thigh to shoulder in the headlights. He stopped to look but it was gone, and the next morning he found grass impressions showing heel and toes.

The witness climbed into a tree stand before dawn to bow hunt. While it was still dark, something breathed heavily beneath the stand for about 10 minutes then walked away to the southeast. Shortly after sunrise in light fog, the witness saw a large human-like figure about 100 yards away walking east at a fast pace. After climbing down, the witness followed its footprints eastward.
