Tracks in Idaho (1982)
The witness was on his first elk hunt as a teenager with a school friend's family in north-central Idaho. While walking a dusty logging road with an older hunter, he noticed bare human-like footprints in the dust. The older hunter quickly dismissed them and the witness felt it was best not to mention them again.
Strange loud sounds; track discovered the following day
As a teenager camping with a relative and a companion, the witness heard a loud evening vocalization at bedtime that was first thought to be an elk bugle but the relative disagreed. The next morning while preparing to pack into nearby lakes, the group found a single track in a marshy area near the trailhead. The witness and companion were frightened by the find and did not discuss it further.

In August 1981 the witness rode a motorcycle up forest roads to a high peak near the North Fork. Near the treeline he uncovered a large old barefoot-like track and later from the summit saw a head-and-shoulders shadow watching from the dark treeline. The shape was gone when he looked back after viewing the panorama, and he rode quickly back down the mountain.

In November 1979 the witness walked on a low lake's exposed mud flat following the inlet stream and found very large human-like tracks. He followed them about 100 meters and noted they crossed deep water twice and ascended a steep bank without changing stride or showing shaking off. Drawing on lifelong woods experience and wildlife work, he said he could not identify the track maker and ruled out known local animals.

At dawn on a snowy morning a child resting on a living-room couch noticed a moving shape reflected in the television screen and then looked out the window. A large hairy face was peering inside from a few feet away and looked directly at the child. The terrified child fled upstairs to a relative, and holes in the snow were later seen where the figure had stood.

A couple days later in the same Idaho hunt, the group drove before dawn in snow and watched a dark stump-like shape widen and slide slowly across the road out of headlight range. Later that day they found giant five-toed tracks circling their parked vehicle, and the passenger who checked the roadside with a flashlight claimed it was a hooded hunter on horseback.

The witness was elk hunting on horseback in the Idaho wilderness with a companion when their horses became unmanageable near a ridgetop. They discovered very large fresh human-like footprints in snow that did not look like bear tracks. After moving away, they learned that two hunters camped in the next valley had abandoned camp after reporting a screaming animal throwing logs and destroying their camp.

As a young teenager bringing cows across a canal near dark, the diarist saw a large bear-like figure standing on hind feet by a sapling 600-700 feet away and felt intense chill. Cows were undisturbed and his father was unconcerned. Next morning with his friend [name withheld] he found a huge bare footprint in wet mud under the sapling, estimated 8.5-9 feet tall using [name withheld]'s height, and nearby found a stick-bed with a strong repulsive odor.

A group of youngsters skating on a river encountered an 8-foot hair-covered creature that yelled and brandished a large club. They fled on skates to their wagons and escaped. Tracks found later away from the river were 22 inches long with four toes.

In the early 1900s a Bigfoot appeared at an ice-skating gathering on a river in Idaho, causing skaters to flee by wagon. A later hunting party of 20 men found it gone but discovered tracks in the snow.

In snow in the canyon the witness and friend found a giant canine-like pad print as large as a hand following buck deer tracks into brush. In the same area they found a large human-like footprint twice as long and wide as the witness's foot.

On Halloween night the friend, the witness and the friend's son went into Rock Creek Canyon playing calls. They heard creatures trailing on both sides, humming growling, a large boulder splash in the creek, saw eyeshine of a very tall figure, then found a mature deer with a leg twisted and left quickly.

After months finding large tracks around remote mountain lakes, the witness hiked between lakes filming and felt watched in unusual quiet. He heard tree knocks from front and behind and felt surrounded while filming himself. He later found in the video a large figure peering beside a tree about 30 to 40 feet away and a white face high in another tree.
