A large dark hair-covered biped emerged from a draw about seventy yards away, walked past at an angle, then turned upslope into brush and out of view. The figure was reportedly visible for about two minutes with travel sounds heard briefly afterward, and the site was revisited the next morning for a height comparison.

The witness and four companions were pausing in a hay field during a target-practice outing when the witness spotted a large dark figure rising from a blackberry patch. The figure walked across a trail, paused by a fir tree and looked toward the group, then continued into an adjacent field. The group went to the spot, found flattened brush and a bent-grass trail, estimated the figure's height against the tree, took photos, and then heard knocking beats and hooting sounds after birds flushed and dogs barked in the distance.

In the morning an indistinct disturbance entering camp and a freshly snapped tree stump were found, and while hiking out the witness felt watched.

The witness described a nearer caller and a more distant caller answering each other for about an hour. The next morning while hiking a narrow brush-lined trail, the witness found a single large footprint larger than a size 11.5 boot and photographed it with the boot for scale.

The creature looked at them, took two steps up an embankment and disappeared. The witness arrived at dawn to hunt deer from a climber stand about 20 feet up a pine. After hearing wood knocks and tree breaks for several minutes, he spotted a tall figure about 200 yards away and viewed it through a rifle scope, describing an 8-foot upright figure with a flat face that smelled the air then ran off on two legs. He climbed down, found a large five-toed human-like track where it had slid, heard whoops from two directions, and left the area.

A family staying at a remote pack station heard a high-pitched whooping call for many minutes that seemed to approach and then pass toward a wilderness trail. The daughter went to the access road to meet the caller and saw a large, hair-covered, unclothed being with a long beard, long arms and a big mouth walking quickly past. She said it did not see her and was not vocalizing when seen. The next morning the family found a few possible wide-toed prints in the dust at the spot she indicated.

The witness was bow-hunting in coastal second-growth forest on the morning of 9/1/01. He heard whooping and scream-like vocalizations followed by a large tree falling, plus heavy footsteps, and later found large ground impressions, broken limbs and tops, and animal hair high on a tree. An investigator later reviewed photos of broken and twisted trees and received frozen scat and hair samples for examination.

The witness and a relative were camping overnight when they heard a loud whooping sound nearby followed by loud crunching like branches breaking. A girl was heard screaming after the whooping. In the morning they found large footprints near their tent measuring about 12 to 16 inches long, which they felt were too large for a bear.

The visitor opened food containers, ate bread, growled, overturned a cooler and carried off meat before leaving toward the river where vocalizations were heard. Large footprints and teeth marks were found the following morning.

A group camping above a swollen river heard mumbling voices and stick-breaking approaching, followed by loud chanting, shouting and stomping that shook a log seat and was taken as a demand to leave. The sounds stopped after deep hooted calls and later receded to distant screams up the valley and across the mountain. Later, while in a tent, the witness saw the firelight blocked by a squatting silhouette that touched the zipper with five digits, with felt breath and strong odor, before withdrawing. In the morning the witness noted hairs and deep depressions on the trail.

The witness was part of a demolitions training convoy descending to a staging area when three hair-covered bipedal creatures were seen watching from the middle of a quarry. The middle individual was tallest and stood still while the two smaller flankers rocked side to side. The daytime sighting lasted about 25-30 seconds, shortly after a whoop-like sound was heard from beyond the work area.

About three weeks before the interview the witness and a friend overnighted in the truck in a different part of the valley. They recorded chatter and whooping audio and found a footprint in thick moss. No creature was seen.

The following summer at the same lake, the large group found wide footprints in mud. After dark they heard whooping exchanges from woods near different camps around the lake. A small family across the lake left abruptly overnight leaving tent and fire.
