A couple stopped their car on an isolated forest road and made whoop sounds. They heard wood knocks and strange whoop-like vocalizations answered from both downhill and uphill sides of the road. The exchange lasted about five minutes until a distant dog barked and the couple left.

About an hour later on the return leg they found six fresh, very deep human-like barefoot prints with deer tracks in hard mud where they had seen nothing earlier.
