A family of four driving through Geneva State Park in daylight stopped after noticing a large dark bipedal figure moving through snowy woods. The figure was watched briefly for about ten seconds before disappearing. Shortly after from a nearby parking lot the adults made whoop calls and heard replies described as whoops, a scream or growl, and wood knocks, while also noticing a strong unpleasant odor.

After the friend also looked and fled to the house, the form ran across the creek toward a field and the witness ran inside.

The witness then saw a long reddish-haired creature squatting motionless near the corner of the house without looking toward them. Woken by crashing and the dog barking, the witness heard a juvenile on the porch beating the deck and plucking the air conditioner while an adult gave gibberish instructions and the juvenile answered with tongue clicks. Then something wailed on the dog box. In the morning he found a twisted tree, shredded sapling and tracks and made a cast. With a flashlight he saw something large and black moving up the hill.
