While moose hunting alone, the witness slipped and fell in moss. On looking up he saw a black, large, upright creature about 10 yards away staring at him. When he raised his rifle it screamed, ran away upright at high speed in a manlike manner, and disappeared.
"Tree stump" jumps up and runs away
The witness was hiking with family on a trail near their campsite at midday. He noticed a stump-like shape in a sunlit area that suddenly stood and ran away bipedally for about 100 yards. His family did not see it. He reported it to a park worker and later returned to find large tracks and disturbed wood.

Two companions were resting by their vehicles while deer hunting in the early afternoon when two bipedal creatures were seen crossing a road from west to east about two-tenths of a mile away toward pines and a swamp. The lead individual was described as a 6.5-foot light-brown male walking hunched, followed about 15 yards behind by a 5.5-foot black female with breasts who appeared to be holding something at her waist. Both were said to walk without locking their knees.

The witness estimated it at 6-7 feet tall and over 300 pounds, moving very fast in a few steps with arms pumping and a hunched posture. The witness and a companion were parked in a truck at a mountain road landing late at night and watched a wild boar rooting in snow. Late in the evening the witness drove around the apartment complex and saw a dark figure standing at the edge of the woods by the trash bins. The figure looked at the witness and then moved slowly back into the woods. The next morning footprints were found near the dumpster in snow, leading the witness to conclude the figure was not a bear.

A young woman riding a horse home through a dry riverbed in the late afternoon encountered a hairy biped near trees. Her horse refused to go forward, and she saw the creature standing and walking parallel about 75 to 100 yards away. They looked at each other for just under a minute before it turned and left into dense brush walking then crouching.

The witness was driving slowly back into a rural subdivision at night in sleet and ice with bright lights on. The witness saw a large hairy mass the size of a large deer on the roadside that stood up, took two steps, dropped to its knuckles and lunged into the woods. A relative riding in the vehicle did not confirm the sighting, and a same-night search with another relative found nothing. After being iced in for three days, the witness returned and found a single footprint, which was stepped in and destroyed.
