Female fly fisherman's lucid recollection of classic territorial intimidation behavior of Saquatches ; 6mi NE of Mystic Lake
A group hiked to remote mountain lakes and fished. The witness heard branches breaking and a very loud wood-on-wood knock, then smelled a strong foul stench. Pine cones landed sideways next to the witness and large tracks were seen in smashed grass, with a sense of being watched and shadowed until leaving the plateau. No creature was seen.

On a moonlit night in summer 1970, the witness was on a road by a cornfield with a companion when a large brownish creature was heard and then seen running across the road, down a ditch, over a fence and into the cornfield. The creature had a foul smell. The witness returned the next day and found large smudged footprints in the road and cornfield.
Youths in Summer Camp have noisy nighttime experience
The witness was sleeping in a cabin during a summer camp session when loud nighttime noises caused an uproar. A cabin-mate reportedly looked out and described multiple large, hairy, human-like figures near the water tower and cabins. The next morning the witness saw extensive human-like footprints, a large uprooted tree, and vegetation pulled from the lake. Campers were walked around the perimeter to view the traces and were sent home early.
Teens have unusual experience near Myers Flat
Five boys were camping overnight in a repaired old logging cabin in the woods. During the night they were awakened by huffing, shuffling and prying sounds as something circled and probed the cabin walls. When the door was opened they saw only dark hairy legs in the darkness, a companion fired a rifle, and the creature screamed and fled with heavy thuds, leaving torn ground and indentations.

The witness's brother was camping with friends late on a Friday night when the group heard noises and reportedly saw a tall hairy man-like figure that frightened them into fleeing and leaving their gear. The witness learned of it secondhand after the brother returned home terrified despite carrying a shotgun. The next day the witness accompanied the brother back to retrieve belongings and found the camp torn up with scattered items and strange toed footprints.

The witness heard whistling and chomping sounds near a creek and looked toward them. A very muscular, hairy, man-like creature was present for about two minutes before walking into the treeline at the creek edge. The witness later returned to the area and found footprints by the creek.
Man sees ape-like animal in back yard
The owner heard noises by his fenced trash area late at night and went to look with a rifle. He saw an ape-like animal outside the fence, fired into the air, and watched it stand up with its shoulders and head above the 6-foot fence before fleeing through bushes toward the woods. Footprints were left only in soft dirt by the bushes and one was preserved as a plaster cast.

The witness reports recurring nighttime activity over many years at her parents' wooded property. She and others hear footsteps pacing them along the tree line, loud crashing movement, screeching sounds and cracking noises, often accompanied by a strange smell. Family members and visitors have also reported red eyeshine and ape-like figures, and large footprints were found in snow. An investigator later visited, interviewed family members and noted unusual stick and vegetation features in the woods.
Hunter has unexplained, late night encounter while in small boat on Saddle Creek
Late at night the witness paddled a small boat up a creek with two dogs and heard something following on the bank, then a loud blowing noise. The dogs refused to go ashore and later barked intensely. The witness shone a light and saw a large ape-like figure running away over a hill, then noticed a group of tracks while leaving. A skunk-like brassy odor was noted before the sighting.

At the current wooded home, the witness hears a cork-popping sound and later a wailing sound followed by branches scraping the barn. The dog fled back to the deck. In daylight large tracks about 18 inches were found leading from the road by the mailbox around the property to the barn.

Around 6 a.m. the witness heard a huge crash, snap and thumping sounds near his apple orchard. He left and later searched the area, finding a wide boxy footprint with toe prints and additional prints. His wife later found four apple-smelling scat piles in a row.

While mushroom hunting with his mother the witness crossed a creek and found a single tiny human-like footprint in a wash. No other prints appeared after extended tracking, while crashing sounds moved away through woods, which he interpreted as something carrying off a young one.

The witness and a companion were cutting firewood when he found a fresh small footprint in mud. They then heard and felt a large tree fall but could find no fallen tree. While searching around a large pine he saw only blackness underneath, felt sudden intense fear, ran, became disoriented, then returned to the truck and left.

Sitting on the deck around 5:30 in the morning, the witness heard a large-lunged wailing sound then branches scraping the barn and a large presence the dog fled from. Later that morning his brother found gigantic footprints by the mailbox and his father tracked 18-inch prints going north to the neighbor's then back south to the barn, suggesting something had watched him.

After leaving a fishing rod wedged in a tree over baited pond channels overnight, they returned at dawn to find the rod gone. At the base of the tree in murky water they saw a large heel-shaped depression with skin-line detail. They first suspected the grandfather had taken the rod as a prank, but he denied it.

Earlier in the same season the group was camped overnight in a basin while elk hunting. Something circled the camp at night and frightened guard dogs that normally showed no fear. The next day the men followed large barefoot tracks with very long strides and a damaged toe from behind the camp to a canyon.

A group camped in a mostly dry creek bed high in the mountains. Around five in the morning the witness and another camper awoke to rock clacking in the creek. They later found prints described as clearly non-human in proportion and stacked rocks, with photos said to exist.
Odor
Over several months the household noticed episodic skunk-like odors, distinct tree knocks, grunts and owl-like mimicry, nightly dog barking and motion lights tripping. A chain-link dog kennel was found shoved inward with no recent bear sign. Muffled conversation-like sounds were heard behind the house with no footprints found.
Tracks
A field researcher described finding a campsite in a long-studied area with the tent torn and burned, fire logs scattered, food and belongings strewn, trees knocked down, and skin-like material on the ground. After hearing blowing-like sounds from both sides of the road, the party found large barefoot tracks with smaller ones nearby along an established trail. They reported the find, returned next day to find authorities cleaning the site, and later described drag marks, blood staining, and urination along the trail.

The first guest's friend was asleep in his house on the reservation with the window open on a hot night. He woke to loud breathing outside, saw a large beast standing at the end of the backyard by the mountains, grabbed a rifle and turned on a light, after which it was gone. The next day he and his brother returned with guns and found three large footprints in the backyard.
