Three companions were gathered at a pond bonfire late at night when one walked back toward the house alone with a shotgun. He reportedly saw eyes staring down at him off the trail, shouted, then fired all six rounds at close range before fleeing in fear. Later the reporter heard a single very loud prolonged scream from that area followed by total forest silence, and a brief morning search found almost no blood and no clear prints.

Waking with a sense of danger she shone a spotlight to the creek and watched a very tall muscular hairy figure stand, display large hands and scream for 30-40 seconds. The scream caused a physical ripple sensation and the family decided to move.
