In 1977 the witness and his family were camped in the Utah mountains a couple days before hunting season. While scouting with his wife in the afternoon, a reddish-brown creature about 7 to 8 feet tall stepped out about 20 yards away, watched them for about 10 seconds, and was gone when they looked again. That night after snowfall the witness heard something moving around the tent, and the next morning huge tracks were found circling the tent.

A hitchhiker reported encountering a Bigfoot-like creature in a lightly wooded area south of Belleview in darkness. As a young child, the witness was helping a relative with weed clearing in a bean field while another relative operated harvesting machinery. They found a line of very large human-like footprints with an unusually long stride leading toward the house and showed them to the other relative. In February 1977 five youths camped in two VW buses at a remote, densely forested campground in the Trinity Alps. On two consecutive nights around 10:30 p.m., something rushed down the steep hill behind camp and violently rocked the bus the witness slept in. The first morning packs were found strewn and torn open; the second night a large boulder was found wedged behind the bus tire and the other bus had shifted about five feet toward the river. The group reported seeing nothing because windows were iced over, noting only hillside skid marks, rushing noises, and a brief strong odor before leaving early.

Along a path bordered by cornfield and forest they found places where the spool had been rolled and carried, along with very large human-like footprints. A family camping at Sunrise Beach heard branch-breaking sounds overnight and the next morning found a very large footprint in a dried creek bed. Shortly after, they saw a large brownish hair-covered creature watching them from behind a tree on a hillside, which then walked away toward the campground road. The father also reported seeing it cross the road ahead while lifting a wire out of its way, and the family quickly left the area.

They also found remains of a duck that had been plucked and eaten nearby, felt watched, and noted the area was unusually quiet with frequent strange noises. The witness never saw a creature.

Four college geology students camping at night heard howling from a canyon and then saw the outline of a huge bipedal animal on the road in moon and campfire light. When the animal approached, one student fired a rifle several times, after which it crossed the road and moved noisily up the opposite slope through brush. A responding deputy examined the area the next day and reported indistinct impressions, small pushed-over trees and long uphill strides, but no blood or fur.

Four deer hunters stopped at a relative's ranch for lunch and fed hogs when horses in a back pasture became highly agitated for about 30 minutes. They found very large, deep tracks circling the pasture with a strong wet-dog and rotten-egg odor still present. They followed the bipedal trackway to a very steep hill where the steps ascended out of reach, tried and failed to replicate the stride and step-up, then left without ever seeing the maker.

The witness, then working at a gun club picking up clay targets, came through tall brush into a clearing and saw a large hairy figure standing behind a tree about 60 feet away. They stared at each other for nearly a minute before the witness heard children approaching behind him, turned to warn his partner to move the kids away, and lost sight of the figure.

The guest drove into an unmowed field off Abair Road after midnight with a trooper in another field and waited. After tree-breaking sounds and the trooper fleeing, a large hairy upright creature approached to about 30 feet, vocalized intensely, then turned and walked away across the field into the woods.

At age six the witness was outside with a relative in late summer 1976 in Canyon City and watched a hair-covered figure standing on a hill across the road backlit by the setting sun for about a minute. The figure then turned and walked away out of sight. The witness ran inside to tell family, and parents later found large footprints on the hill.

In mid-summer 1975 around midnight, the witness and three companions were wading the Olentangy River when they heard breaking brush and saw a tall hair-covered biped at the tree line. The figure followed them downstream as they moved, and they heard heavy movement in the water and a howl as they fled to a nearby apartment complex. At the woods edge near the apartments it stopped and stared at them before they ran toward town and abandoned their gear for two days.
