Two brothers waiting outside an abandoned tunnel with dogs heard a loud roar from the trees and something very large breaking branches for about ten minutes. They froze, hearing padding in undergrowth without ever seeing it. Days later they found a very large footprint about twenty inches long.

Late at night a resident went onto the porch after the outside dog became highly agitated and heard continuous loud shrieking screams, which the spouse also heard. A forestry technician flown by helicopter to a remote alpine basin for road layout work reported finding barefoot tracks in snow in January. He described approximately six prints showing toes that were wider than human and not bear-like. He checked with the helicopter pilot, who said he had not walked in the basin.

The tracks ran from the creek across sandy soil toward rocky brush and were described as about 17 inches long and 10 inches wide. Several children riding bikes on a snow-covered dirt road reported seeing footprints and walked barefoot in the snow, getting their feet cold and wet. Their mother went to look and reported finding large human-like tracks in deep snow, which were photographed. A later examination documented a trackway of about two dozen large prints leading from a hill to the road.

Nine experienced student hikers camped on the slope of Dead Mountain during a certification trek and rushed out of their tent at night into severe cold in minimal clothing. Searchers later found the tent cut open with belongings inside and lines of footprints leading toward the woods. Five bodies were found between camp and forest and four more buried under deep snow in a ravine with severe fractures and missing soft tissue. Authorities attributed the deaths to an unknown compelling force and closed access to the area.

Five miners were sleeping in their log cabin when multiple creatures attacked through the night. The beings threw rocks, tried to force the door, climbed on the roof, and dug underneath. At dawn the creatures left, and the shaken men hiked out to get help.
