About 150 yards up the road he noticed a large human-like footprint on the creek bank measuring about 17 inches long and 6 inches wide. The witness was fishing downstream from family members when he briefly saw the lower legs of a dark figure stepping from the creek onto the bank and into dense brush. The witness was hiking with straggling students toward a mountain lake when they found a line of very large human-like barefoot prints crossing the trail at a right angle. The witness reported finding three large human-like footprints while fly fishing on the south shore of a river east of town. The prints were documented with photographs and tape measurements, including one about 18 to 19 inches long with a 38-inch step to the next print. The investigator stated that bear, human, and hoax explanations were ruled out by visual examination and estimated a very heavy animal from depth and area.
