The witness was walking in a power line cut in the early afternoon when loud wood-on-wood knocks were heard from both sides of the clearing, seeming to answer each other. The witness also found a large grassy bedding depression with a very strong unfamiliar odor nearby. No other witnesses were present.

Trout fishermen encounter unnerving sounds & rock throwing in Joccasee Gorge
Three college roommates hiked to the Thompson River to fish and camp overnight. After dark they repeatedly heard a childlike crying sound from a nearby ridge, had small river stones tossed into camp, and later heard loud knocks alternating with the cries. At daylight they hiked out, noticing concentrated scat and disturbed ground near oak trees, and concluded the activity was not from a person.
