The primary witness was in a bedroom with an infant and stood to close the blinds when she saw a large hairy face peering in the window. She fled the room with the child in shock. Minutes later three household members arriving at the house smelled a bad odor and heard footsteps retreating into the woods east of the house, but the source stayed beyond flashlight range.
Man sees an upright creature jump across wooded trail
A couple walking on a gated two-track trail near the Trinity River at dusk claimed a rusty-red upright figure about six feet tall leapt across the trail about 40 yards ahead and disappeared into the woods in under a second. They ran to the crossing point and reported hearing it continue running through the woods, flushing birds, and the primary witness smelled a strong musky odor. They found no tracks but noted a clump of freshly uprooted trees nearby.

After midnight the witness and a relative were awakened by barking dogs and noticed a rank odor in the house. When the witness went to get water he saw a large hairy head staring in through the kitchen window for about 30 seconds. He retreated to load a rifle while both heard a loud howling from the yard, but the figure was gone when he went outside with lights on.

In 1978 the witness walked about a mile into the woods to a pin-oak flat and saw a gray, gorilla-like figure lying under a pine across the flat. He used trees for cover to stalk from about 100 yards to 50-75 yards, but it disappeared without him seeing it leave. He later found mashed grass and a strong animal odor at the spot and noted a complete absence of other wildlife.
