A couple drove into an old rock quarry at dusk and saw a large gray human-shaped figure standing in front of their car. They watched it quickly climb a steep gravel slope on all fours, stand bipedally at the top, and walk into the woods. A dark figure crouched by the guardrail stood, raised its arms, then lay down in the lane and the car drove over it. The witness was sleeping in a cabin during a summer camp session when loud nighttime noises caused an uproar. A cabin-mate reportedly looked out and described multiple large, hairy, human-like figures near the water tower and cabins. The next morning the witness saw extensive human-like footprints, a large uprooted tree, and vegetation pulled from the lake. Campers were walked around the perimeter to view the traces and were sent home early.
