Later the same day the pair hiked deep into the forest, first noting twisted broken branches pointed toward the trail. On a thicker, darker return trail they heard bipedal footsteps on both sides, a whistle, a deep vocal sound, and smelled a foul odor while the woods stayed silent. After reaching a logging clearing with empty cabins, they turned to see the back of a tall dark-haired biped before hurrying to a paved road where workers directed them out.

In summer 2009 near Deep Creek by Lake Arrowhead, California, the witness reported seeing a very tall figure standing on a large boulder about a mile away. Companions with the witness also saw it but thought it was a person, and the witness remained unsure what was seen. A photo was taken from a great distance but was too blurry to show detail or scale.
Man Has Face to Face Encounter Outside of Willits
The witness was driving north on Highway 101 north of Willits in daylight when a large hair-covered biped entered the roadway and ran across the lanes in front of the car. The witness braked and then stopped as the animal paused at the road edge about 25 feet away, turned its upper body and stared for about five seconds. The animal then bounded up a steep embankment on all fours and left.

While camping alone at night near a stream, the witness heard a deep growl and saw a crouched dark mass at the treeline, fired warning shots, then heard rocks repeatedly splashing in the stream for hours and heard deep oof sounds on a later approach. Near dawn a very tall hair-covered female-like figure stood by the tent and walked rapidly toward the witness despite additional warning shots, then ran away over granite and out of sight. The witness remained in place until daylight and then hiked out.

The witness was driving east on Highway 96 at night with his daughter when headlights caught a hairy biped coming down an embankment toward the road. He stopped and watched it take a few long strides to the centerline, look toward the car, then leap off the pavement and disappear. He described it as about six feet tall, very stocky with long arms and dark brown hair, and noted its eyes did not reflect like deer eyes.

The witness was driving slowly along a ridge-line dirt road during a boundary survey at midday when a black figure was spotted among trees. Initially mistaken for a stump and then a bear, the figure was judged too thin and tall to be a bear. As the vehicle closed to close range, the figure sprinted across the road on two legs and disappeared into trees.

A large camping group found a hut-like structure made of snapped boughs and filmed it in detail. While examining the structure, a group member pointed out a distant figure moving along a ridge. The witness videotaped the figure for several minutes as it moved back and forth, gestured, and disappeared behind rocks.

A young woman riding a horse home through a dry riverbed in the late afternoon encountered a hairy biped near trees. Her horse refused to go forward, and she saw the creature standing and walking parallel about 75 to 100 yards away. They looked at each other for just under a minute before it turned and left into dense brush walking then crouching.
UFO sighting near Monterey, California (1996)
The witness accompanied his teenage daughter to a downtown cemetery where she was taking night photos for a class. They watched two orange spheres detach from a meteor-like streak, reappear over a nearby ball field and pass overhead, followed by three bright lights that became a large silent triangular craft passing low overhead before vanishing. Afterward they attempted to report the sighting to police, the airport tower, and a UFO reporting center.

Two witnesses driving at night saw a large fur-covered animal cross the highway in front of their car and climb a steep bank into the forest. They returned in daylight and found large deep footprints in snow, which they photographed and displayed with a written account. The writer later examined the photos and spoke with the witnesses and found them convincing.
