A couple riding an ATV over a small hill encountered a tall black creature standing beside the trail behind a narrow tree. The driver first mistook it for a stump, then realized its size as it turned its head toward them. The wife screamed upon seeing it, and they fled rapidly on the ATV without being followed.

While checking nets during a late-night bat survey, the witness and two coworkers heard a whoop and then saw a tall hair-covered biped cross a dirt road in front of them. The creature looked at them, took two steps up an embankment and disappeared. A motion light came on and the witness saw a tall, dark, shaggy creature standing on two legs at the window, partly obscured by a blind. The figure stood briefly, then left toward the woods. The next morning the witness found slide marks in mud on the hillside but no clear footprints.

The witness was working an overnight security shift at a strip mine when he heard movement in brush behind the trailer. Shining a flashlight, he saw a large bipedal animal squatting behind a thicket that covered its face with huge hands before running away. About half an hour later he heard a chilling scream from inside the locked trailer, and he left the mountain for good that night.

The witness shone a flashlight and watched a very tall, muscular, hair-covered animal move past about 60 feet away for several seconds. The pair were frightened, and the next day they used a sapling to estimate its height at nine feet.

The day after the sighting the young witness and her father left marbles and a turkey feather in the woods. When they returned a couple days later the marbles were gone and replaced with palm-sized river rocks, and the turkey feather was replaced with a crow feather placed further down the log.
