The witness saw a tall outline about 15 to 20 feet away leaning with one arm against a tree and staring, then it turned and walked toward the road while the witness ran. Companions did not see the figure, and the next day the witness found fresh paths and broken and uprooted trees in the area.

Three people driving with a boat on a trailer stopped on a logging road at night. While stopped the truck shook and rocked sideways and the boat and trailer were pushed toward the side of the road by something unseen. The driver drove away thinking it might be an earthquake or landslide. Later inspection showed the boat twisted on the trailer with a split hull, damaged tie-downs and latch, and non-working trailer lights, with no claw marks found.

The witness was camping with companions at a provincial park near Port Alberni. While staying alone at the campsite to tend the fire and collecting wood, he noticed something in the bushes that he first took for a bear and then for a person. After making eye contact, the creature stood upright and walked away on two legs, moving very quietly. The witness returned to the campsite and did not tell his companions what he had seen at the time.

Shortly after setting out in the afternoon they found two sets of very large footprints in the snow running along the bay. As dusk approached they left the area and saw nothing further that night.

Early one summer morning in 1974, the witness, then a child, looked out a bedroom window overlooking Okanagan Lake and saw a very tall, dark, thick-bodied figure standing by the house's sliding glass door. After standing motionless briefly, the figure turned and walked across the lawn into the orchard and out of sight. No one else in the house saw it.

The witness hiked to a deserted mine on a mountain in the afternoon and encountered an upright hair-covered female creature at close range. The creature approached, squatted to strip and eat leaves, noticed the witness, vocalized, and walked away into timber, later appearing briefly on a distant ridge. The witness considered shooting it for science but refrained, then examined droppings and a bedding spot.

Late at night in heavy fog, the witness's wife went to the outhouse and encountered something very close that she heard moving and smelled strongly, then fled back inside. The witness went outside with a gun and flashlight but could see nothing in the fog, though he heard bipedal footsteps, noticed a strong odor, and heard a low screeching sound toward a relative's home. The next morning he found a barbed-wire fence broken down with nails pulled out but found no tracks or hair.
