Campers have possible encounter while staying in High Point State Park
Two brothers camped overnight beside a lake in the park. During the night and again after dawn they repeatedly heard a loud aggressive exhale-like sound nearby, along with footsteps and branches breaking as something moved through the forest, followed by scream-like sounds that turned into chatter. In daylight they found a matted vegetation bed, a fresh flattened trail, and footprints in mud where the sounds had come from. The entity itself was never seen.

The witness was waiting by a truck for her survey partner when she heard screams, distress-like animal cries, rock-smashing sounds, and brush crashing with mumbling like conversation. She stayed in the vehicle without seeing what made the sounds. Shortly after, her partner arrived by a different trail and said he had found a freshly killed deer torn in half with steam, blood, and a blood trail, but had heard nothing.

The guest and his wife were sitting in a borrowed van in the driveway late at night when the wife saw someone run past and a loud whoop and growling started beside the van. The creature shook the van and was lit by brake lights, then the father fired a shotgun from the porch and it leapt across the driveway into the woods. Later that night rocks were thrown at the trailer damaging a fan and siding, and next morning bent van metal, foot impressions, feathers and a missing chicken were found.
