The animal stood up, bared its teeth silently, and walked toward them, causing them to flee into the companion's house. When an adult checked moments later, the animal was gone leaving only disturbed ground.

Late at night in heavy fog, the witness's wife went to the outhouse and encountered something very close that she heard moving and smelled strongly, then fled back inside. The witness went outside with a gun and flashlight but could see nothing in the fog, though he heard bipedal footsteps, noticed a strong odor, and heard a low screeching sound toward a relative's home. The next morning he found a barbed-wire fence broken down with nails pulled out but found no tracks or hair.

In early August 1995, a couple fishing at a neighbor's pond near Addison found large footprints, hair-like material and disturbed vegetation. The father took a tape recorder and walked toward the sounds of a loud growling/roaring creature apparently fighting a neighbor's dog while the child waited uphill by a feed trough. The creature was never seen because it was too dark in the woods, and the father returned uphill. The neighbor's dog was never seen again.

Early one Saturday morning in 1971 or 1972 the witness was driving south on US 27 when he stopped at a fresh single-car wreck with law enforcement present. He saw a car with a crushed front fender and overheard officers remark that no one could have walked away from such an impact and about a bear moving unusually. He did not see any animal himself but later heard a radio news report saying the driver claimed to have hit a Florida Skunk Ape that officers chased into a thicket.

A small research team camped for five days on the Missouri property to document ongoing rock-throwing activity. At night rocks repeatedly struck the tent, table, chairs and vehicle from a ridge above. The team marked piles of rocks with marker and later found marked rocks thrown into camp, along with foot tracks and a handprint.
