Two witnesses recount a close daytime encounter with a very curious creature near Lebanon
Two witnesses walking a logging road heard loud approaching sounds and then saw a tall dark upright figure watching them from behind a tree. The figure leaned out curiously and later followed them to within close range before they ran back to a relative working a nearby field. The relative later visited the spot but found no tracks or odor.

The husband noticed large barefoot-like impressions in mud and shallow water while working near the pond and called his wife to see them. They described three size groupings with five toes and arches, all larger than his shod foot. No photographs were taken and the print area was later underwater.

In the early morning the witness was at a rental mobile home property with his wife to check on tenants and let dogs out. The dogs refused to leave the porch while reacting to movement in an adjacent tobacco field. The witness saw a large hunched furred figure with a rounded back in the field and a smaller figure moving away, and heard exchanging chuffing vocalizations and a distressed mewling sound from the field and from across the road near a creek. The figures moved toward tall grass and the tree line, a tree across the road shook as if climbed, a musty odor was noticed, and mashed grass trails were found the next morning.

The witness stopped for a break by a creek in the Cherokee National Forest in the afternoon, smelled a strong musty urine odor and heard a close low grunt. A large black-and-gray upright figure with humanlike facial features watched the witness from underbrush for 1-2 minutes before turning and leaving through thick brush. The witness retreated to a vehicle and later estimated the figure was at least seven feet tall from measuring the standing spot.

The witness, then 14, stepped outside at home mid-morning and saw a solid milk-chocolate-colored bipedal figure emerge into a field. The figure turned at the waist to look at the witness, then continued walking uphill out of sight over about 30 seconds. The witness later estimated its height at about 7 to 7.5 feet using a nearby tree limb and estimated its weight at several hundred pounds.

The father took his sons and dogs to swim in park pools when they smelled raw sewage and a pine tree broke into three pieces about 100 yards away. The father saw a figure moving between trees and then a tall creature about 40 feet away walking away across the parking area. They heard repeated loud grunts and later whoop calls and left quickly.
