Fishermen find footprints east of Egegik
A commercial fisherman on a multi-day photography trip in remote Alaska found an exceptionally large human-like footprint in gravel and sand. The impression was deeper than nearby bear tracks, showed no claw marks, was documented with a boot for scale, and could be traced for about a hundred feet. He and his companion felt uneasy as if watched but reported no sounds or odors.

The witness noticed a tall, light-colored animal standing at the treeline with its back turned, reaching up a white-bark tree with its right arm. The witness stopped the truck to get a camera, but the animal was gone by the time they exited the truck. The witness later estimated its height at over nine feet by measuring a similar tree from memory.

The writer could not see it clearly without glasses, and the cousin then dismissed it as a stump. Going to the spot, they found three large human-like footprints in the sand, then left for a family picnic area.
