The witness visited a relative's house after a goose was found dead with a broken neck, punctures, and missing insides. She also reports finding a four-toed footprint, flattened weeds suggesting something had lain down and walked through, and damage to a chicken-coop roof. The night had been unusually quiet and livestock were nervous the next morning.
Fisherman has a short first encounter on a damp afternoon, as a creature crosses the road in front of his vehicle
The witness was driving slowly looking for a fishing spot in mid-afternoon when an animal crossed the road almost in front of the truck. He saw only its back, one arm, and coned head for a few seconds before it disappeared into riverside foliage. After turning around he found a couple of large footprints with a long stride. He described the animal as over seven feet tall, heavily built, with long muscular arms and no visible neck.
Large footprints found in snow above Packwood
While elk hunting on a ridge, the witness found large tracks in patches of snow and photographed them. Shortly after taking the photos, a rock was thrown from about 150 meters away and dislodged other rocks downslope. He glassed the direction with binoculars, saw only an indentation in the rocks, then left the mountain quickly feeling uneasy.

The witness spent the early morning driving back roads around Skookum Meadows to revisit prior sites and scout for future investigation. While traveling, the witness found a buttock-like skid mark with possible handprints and three large bare-foot-like impressions, plus additional large human-shaped tracks near a broken natural bee hive and behind roadside fir trees. The witness photographed the findings and made a cast of one track.
Family finds and hears compelling evidence near Leadville
A family hiking around a high-elevation lake above treeline near Leadville found footprint-like depressions in moss between glacial rocks and found additional depressions on further search. They also noted moss torn from boulders, chewed, and left in neat piles, and heard grouped rapping sounds on each of three visits over three days. They recorded the tracks and moss on video and made a cast of one track. No animal was seen.
Man and wife have separate strange encounters in same area
In the early morning the witness was at a rental mobile home property with his wife to check on tenants and let dogs out. The dogs refused to leave the porch while reacting to movement in an adjacent tobacco field. The witness saw a large hunched furred figure with a rounded back in the field and a smaller figure moving away, and heard exchanging chuffing vocalizations and a distressed mewling sound from the field and from across the road near a creek. The figures moved toward tall grass and the tree line, a tree across the road shook as if climbed, a musty odor was noticed, and mashed grass trails were found the next morning.
A series of encounters on Haga Ridge near the Wayne National Forest
The witness reports inspecting the yard on May 26, 2002 after being told about footprints about two weeks earlier, finding multiple sets of large footprints following a muddy ravine through the front yard. A bird feeder was found bent over while a nearby feeder was untouched, suspected to have been pulled down by the track makers. The witness states the family has not personally seen the creatures.

The witness was camping in the White Mountains in March 2001 and found large bipedal prints in deep snow with an ice crust off a snowmobile trail. The prints were described as much larger than a boot print, without human tread, breaking through ice layers that supported the witness. A family of five driving between Grand Prairie and Tumbler Ridge stopped on Boot Lake Road and found large barefoot human-like footprints in snow in a roadside ditch. About eight prints were clear, with a ninth leading into brush where willows were bent and broken. They estimated the size and stride but did not follow or photograph them because the children were frightened.

On March 18, 2001, two brothers hiking near Table Rock Wilderness found large bare-foot-like prints in snow that were larger and deeper than their own boot prints. The witness was fishing downstream from family members when he briefly saw the lower legs of a dark figure stepping from the creek onto the bank and into dense brush. He searched the spot and found wet marks on rocks, disturbed soil, and dung, which companions helped videotape. He concluded the figure was unlikely to be human given the remote, rugged terrain.

The morning after dogs repeatedly barked toward the woods overnight, a resident found fence wires pulled down and a large print in sandy soil near the fence. He searched downhill and found a second similar print on a creek sandbar. The family reported the finds, and investigators visited that afternoon and measured both prints.

The prints were documented with photographs and tape measurements, including one about 18 to 19 inches long with a 38-inch step to the next print. The investigator stated that bear, human, and hoax explanations were ruled out by visual examination and estimated a very heavy animal from depth and area.
