As they drove away, one rider looked back and saw a very large, wide, dark hairy figure leap onto the road, land on all fours, then stand erect and grunt. The figure was silhouetted in bright moonlight, preventing detail of face or hands, and was estimated at about seven feet tall.

After hearing tree breaks, movement, strange noises and heavy footsteps, the witness saw a large red bipedal animal walk along the road. When the witness spoke on the radio the animal screamed and ran away, and two large footprints were later found in silt.

The witness was driving home late at night when a large manlike entity crossed the two-lane road in front of the vehicle in a few fast, smooth steps and disappeared into trees on the far side. The witness stopped, noting no other vehicles or people around, and heard it crashing through brush. The next morning the witness found a path of broken brush and trampled grass where it had crossed but no tracks.
