In September 1972 the witness was backpacking down a trail from a lake with his father and a companion when he moved ahead alone into a small meadow. About 12 feet away he saw a large hairy animal bent over digging, which then stood erect to an estimated 8 feet or more with its back to him before he hid behind a boulder. When he looked again it was gone, and companions arriving minutes later saw only broken brush and hair. He kept the account secret for decades until later seeing films that matched his memory.

On a clear November mid-afternoon in 1964, several children and later their mother watched a distant upright black figure standing in a harvested corn field. The children shouted at it, it appeared to turn toward them then away, and a dog chased after it out of view. The mother, frightened, brought the children inside. The reporter states that in the late 1970s her father was driving a school bus early in the morning when a large hair-covered man- and ape-like creature came down a deer path. The witness describes repeated nighttime visits to a rural property over about a year by a family of large hairy creatures that ate fruit, looked in trailer windows, and once bit a penned hog. The witness reports seeing three individuals of varying heights, hearing frequent chattering, noticing odor, tracks and hair, and attempting to hunt them without driving them away. After about a year the visits stopped, believed to have ended when habitat regrew.

The witness and a companion were camping in a tent on the witness's driveway in mid-October. Around 2 a.m. under a full moon, the witness awoke to grunting and snapping trees and saw a large hair-covered figure striking and eating a deer, then dragging it uphill. The figure approached the tent, giving off a strong musky odor and knocking a frying pan from a tree before leaving. In the morning the witness found deer remains, drag marks, and a shelter-like structure of bent and broken pines.

A young child reported a furry smelly cowman at the field edge, followed by an older sibling being followed by heavy footsteps and a father finding long coarse hair on a loosened fence wire. That evening the father and son were chased from the woods, night howls with whoops continued, and a large shape spoke and made faces at the bedroom window. The mother shot at an arm reaching for the child, the family fled, and returning days later found the house interior violently torn apart.

The witness's grandmother, while on the porch, said she saw a thing walk across the pasture and step over a barbed wire fence without stopping. The next day the family found huge human-like but three-toed footprints crossing the fence and ditch to a dirt road, with long strides, including an imprint in soft rock. They also found coarse brown hair on the fence wire that smelled bad.

The witness was driving home on a two-lane highway in north-central Arkansas after sunset when a fast, reddish-haired ape-like animal carrying a raccoon in its mouth ran into the road. He struck it squarely with his car at highway speed, feeling a violent impact that was heard by his girlfriend on the phone. After stopping he found no damage to the car and no airbag deployment, but extensive blood on the passenger side, yet no body, blood, hair, or raccoon at the impact site. He also describes a brief dull flash at impact and time seeming to slow.

Witness observed two creatures crossing the road
About seven years earlier, while driving at dusk on a gravel road into the Blue Mountains, the witness came around a bend and saw two tall figures crossing the road in the headlights. The lights reflected yellow from their eyes while low sunlight illuminated their bodies. The witness stopped and got out after they walked into the woods but saw nothing further and found no tracks because the ground was hard.
