The witness camped alone in her van at a rustic campground during storms. Deer ran toward her then fled after looking toward the treeline, where she saw a high pair of large forward-facing eyes. After trying brighter lights she got in the van to get thermal, closed the slider, and heard a loud growl very close. She stayed quiet overnight hearing howls and screams, and her friend found suspicious tracks and hair the next morning.
Wood knock in California (2018)
The witness and friends camped at a small creekside site off a mountain road in late June 2018. After evening knocking sounds and a strong musky odor at night, a large human-like creature with yellow eyes appeared at the witness's tent, grabbed it, lifted and dropped the witness inside, then left in a few steps after a shot was fired. The group saw large footprints, later heard whoops from multiple directions, and had a basketball-sized rock thrown at their truck while leaving.

He scanned the trees with a gun-mounted light and saw a tall upright creature behind a large oak that growled and screamed, prompting him to fire at the tree. The guest was alone having a barbecue at a ridge lookout in a national park when he heard fast unintelligible voices that fell silent after he called out. After a long silence he saw yellow eyeshine in the gully, then a large hairy upright figure by a tree, followed by a second smaller eyeshine, thumping sounds and a long loud howl. While driving slowly away down a rocky track he felt something shunt the back of his car but saw nothing when he braked.

A homeowner had shot a deer and hung it in a tree behind the house. That night while going to let dogs out, he heard an unfamiliar scream and saw a large ape-like creature in the yard. The creature seized the deer and fled into the forest, tearing out a stretch of barbed-wire fence and leaving hair and tracks. A friend visiting the next day was shown where it stood and ran, including the tracks and hair.

The witness, then about 12, was deer hunting with his father, brother and uncles at a mountain camp. Over several nights a loud screaming vocalization was heard around 9 p.m. and the uncles repeatedly chased the source uphill. One uncle confronted a very tall hair-covered biped at close range and fired over its head, while later nights brought a spotlight glimpse of a large dark mass, a small 4-foot figure, answering calls from another ridge, uprooted trees and reddish hair tufts, before the activity moved away.

A group gathered on a front porch at night heard noises near an old chicken coop and saw two pairs of yellow eyes that appeared to be two feline-like animals in the headlights. A large hairy biped then stepped in front of the animals and lurched toward a car, prompting the group to flee inside and call deputies. The biped later stood outside a lit kitchen window for several minutes while occupants held firearms but did not shoot, then left before deputies arrived, leaving a strong odor.
