6 miles S of Bend - Fresh tracks, 8-10 of them, found in snow on road
A property owner south of Bend reported finding a line of large tracks in snow that ran from brush across a road to a railroad embankment, running over two of them with a truck. The tracks were described as about 21 inches long with a 48- to 50-inch stride and no drag marks, estimated to be 8-10 hours old when found in the early afternoon. Fourteen photos, video footage, and possible hair samples were collected, but the tracks later disappeared and an investigator who viewed the photos was unimpressed.

The witness found a pony dead with a broken neck at the bottom of a short embankment in a pass northwest of Portland. Near the carcass was a single poorly defined 16-inch-long track and many long grayish-white hairs on nearby limbs that had a strange indescribable odor. The hairs were reportedly saved, and the witness planned to ask a relative what became of them.
