A relative told the reporter by phone that a man found three large hairy manlike creatures on his porch and yard. The man reportedly shot one with a rifle, after which two others came out of nearby forest and carried the shot one away. The reporter states the FBI was called and took blood and hair samples, and that the reporter later overheard game wardens on a scanner discussing the same incident.

In the evening the witness and two family members were at home when a strong foul odor entered through open windows. A relative then saw a large hairy unclothed figure watching the house, chased it toward the chicken area where it carried a chicken, hit a wire fence and leapt over a brush pile to escape. Later a hairy face appeared in the living-room window, a storage building and freezer were found entered, and responding deputies found nothing.

Two children walking down a road on summer vacation saw a tall white-haired biped walking in a pasture. The creature paused when it noticed them, then turned toward them, prompting them to run a short way before looking again. They watched it step over a tall barbed-wire fence and continue east with long strides and swinging arms. A few days later they recovered long white hair from the top wire of a fence.

At age 15 the guest was fishing alone at a creek near his father's house when he heard whoops and saw a large hairy figure behind a sycamore. He confronted it with a .22 rifle, and after it growled and roared he shot it in the throat, then in the hand, then multiple times in the chest as it screamed, broke saplings, and ran straight through a barbed-wire fence across a hay meadow. Later that day his father found broken trees, blood and hair on the sycamore, and blood and hair on the broken fence wires.
