Appalachian Trail Hikers find possible tracks and hear a late night howl near Franklin
Two people on a backpacking trip camped for the night and heard a long two-toned howl after midnight, followed by distant whoops over about two hours. The next day while hiking they found large deep human-like footprints crossing the trail at two gaps, with about five-foot stride, plus piled limbs in tree forks and overturned mushrooms nearby. They photographed the prints and noted a bloody stick but did not keep it.
Large bipedal animal frequently observed by a South Dakota family
A family reports seeing an unidentified tall biped around their rural home over four years, usually at night. The creature is described as 7 to 9 feet tall, walking upright with a slight hunch and running too fast to follow. Footprints, hair, possible saliva, blood stains, and snapped small trees were also found on the property. Up to nine family members in three houses have seen it when arriving, leaving, or moving between houses.

The witness and a relative followed large human-like tracks in mud from the edge of a soybean field through a forest into a clearing. The clearing contained many dog prints in a circle and blood on the ground. The tracks then continued into a bog.

A farmer found his chicken coop door ripped off with a bloody handprint on it and hairs, footprints and blood left behind. Several chickens were killed without being eaten, and the door was taken to a zoo for examination.
Scary encounters outside a rural home near Jackson
The witness and a companion were camping in a tent on the witness's driveway in mid-October. Around 2 a.m. under a full moon, the witness awoke to grunting and snapping trees and saw a large hair-covered figure striking and eating a deer, then dragging it uphill. The figure approached the tent, giving off a strong musky odor and knocking a frying pan from a tree before leaving. In the morning the witness found deer remains, drag marks, and a shelter-like structure of bent and broken pines.
Sasquatch sighting in Oklahoma
At age 15 the guest was fishing alone at a creek near his father's house when he heard whoops and saw a large hairy figure behind a sycamore. He confronted it with a .22 rifle, and after it growled and roared he shot it in the throat, then in the hand, then multiple times in the chest as it screamed, broke saplings, and ran straight through a barbed-wire fence across a hay meadow. Later that day his father found broken trees, blood and hair on the sycamore, and blood and hair on the broken fence wires.

The caller said he and two companions were night-hunting with roof spotlights when they spotted red eyes and fired on a crouching creature. The creature stood about seven to eight feet tall and ran on two legs before being shot multiple times and falling near a creek. They later tracked blood and footprints to a plum thicket where the witness shot a six-foot hair-covered female at close range and found a larger dead male behind her.
Family finds large footprints and hears strange sounds near Pollock Pines
During a family walk on a mountain logging trail in the late 1970s, the group heard branches breaking around them. Near a recently fallen tree they found a wet blood-like substance on the log and a very large fresh human-like footprint that dwarfed an adult man's boot. The group quickly left the area and returned toward the cabin.
