From the forested canyon along the river below, they heard a loud whooping vocalization they could not identify at the time. Two weeks later the witness heard a similar sound in an online video and concluded it matched.

About three weeks before the interview the witness and a friend overnighted in the truck in a different part of the valley. They recorded chatter and whooping audio and found a footprint in thick moss. No creature was seen.
