Campers hear knocks and unknown vocalizations at night in Tillamook State Forest
The witness and two companions were camping at the same forest campground where relatives had reported loud calls the previous weekend. After an evening hike and unsuccessful knocking attempt, they were stargazing around the campfire. They then heard two sets of rapid knocks from one direction followed within seconds by two howls from another direction, which they recorded. The camp was otherwise empty, with the nearest other campground miles away.

At a rural house on the Oregon coast the household experienced repeated night howls, growls, talking-like sounds, dogs reacting, motion lights, a hand smudge, and large footprints in hard gravel. Young children repeatedly described dark hairy figures with flat noses and red eyes pawing or scratching at a bedroom window, motioning to come outside, and disappearing and reappearing.

The writer and spouse live in a rural hollow adjoining forest land. Late one night the spouse heard odd sounds from the porch, and the writer began recording. A loud yelling vocalization continued for an extended period, at times apparently answered from farther away before seeming to approach. Domestic and neighboring dogs reacted fearfully.
