The witness reported being awakened at home by loud vocalizations and sounds of objects hitting the house, with farm and domestic animals reacting. He went outside armed to check the chicken pen and reported seeing a man-like bipedal figure taking chickens and retreating toward the woods. He said he pursued to high ground and aimed through his rifle scope, but branches fell near him and loud movement approached from both sides, prompting him to retreat and later fire toward the hollow. A single track was reported in the creek bottom the next day, but erosion had removed detail.

A group of five hiked an old closed ridge road around midnight under moonlight. After the leader produced knocks, responsive knocking came from timber about 50 feet away where a shadowy figure was seen, and the leader exchanged sounds with it. As the group hiked back to their cars they were flanked with glowing eyes, vocalizations and rustling.

The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

The witness was sleeping at home with the bedroom window open when he woke abruptly around 12:30 a.m. He then heard very loud wailing, screaming, laughing and whoop-like yells coming from a field several hundred yards away. Late at night the witness and a relative went outside to check a heavy thud behind the house. They saw a deer run past, then a very tall hair-covered human-like figure approach from the woods. After a shotgun shot was fired toward the treeline, the figure veered closer, stopped nearby, then moved along the treeline into the woods where it remained visible for several minutes. A strong odor was noticed and large footprints were found the next day.

After waiting, they heard a prolonged clamor of fighting coyotes uphill with a distinct human- or ape-like yowling mixed in lasting about 45 seconds. The witness believed others near the blasting area recorded the sounds and later said several participants agreed they had heard something other than a known animal.

On the night of October 28, 2000 the witness was hosting an adult-only backyard barbecue party with about a dozen guests. Around 10 p.m. the group heard loud unidentified sounds from the woods near the back of the property and heard heavy footsteps breaking branches that sounded bipedal. Two men entered the woods with a flashlight but the source stayed distant and was never seen, and no tracks were found in deep oak leaves.
