The witness, a contractor who collects road-killed deer, stopped to load a fresh doe into his pickup in the early morning. While seated in the cab reaching for paperwork, he felt the truck shudder and saw in the rearview mirror a dark figure reaching into the truck bed. He drove away quickly, and when he returned minutes later the newly loaded deer and a loading ramp were gone.
Sighting and vocalizations at a home in Wayne National Forest
Late at night two companions were watching TV in a mobile home when they heard a noise at the front. The witness looked through the door window and described a large face peering in that then screamed and pushed away. Both went out the back and watched the figure step over a barbed-wire fence and run away hunched over with very long arms. A next-day search found no tracks, but they measured the door window at seven and a half feet above the ground.

The witness was driving a spray rig along an orchard boundary and scanning a neighboring field when a tall dark figure was seen walking about 100-150 yards away. The witness stopped the vehicle and watched from the hood as the figure moved with a smooth human-like stride into a walnut grove and did not reappear. A few days later the witness estimated the figure's height from a comparison tree and found no footprints on the hard soil.
