The witness retrieved a rifle and followed the sound to a pond where large three-toed tracks were found. The witness then saw a dark shaggy upright figure walk on two legs into the treeline, fired a shot into the air, and heard nothing further.

The witness's teenage daughter waited by a parked car near the river while her brother checked traps. Car lights and flashlight malfunctioned, then something placed a very large hand on her shoulder and upper back. She screamed and ran to the house when her brother answered from down by the river.

About four years after the witness left the farm, she directed a researcher and several companions to an old creek spot.
