Husband and wife looking at fall colors have daytime sighting in Spanish Fork Canyon area
A couple stopped at a trailhead to view fall colors and felt uneasy while standing outside their vehicle. After getting into the vehicle, the wife watched a hairy human-shaped figure squatting on a flat for an extended time, while the husband briefly saw it run fast on a hunch into thick oaks. They left quickly, and the husband returned later that evening and found disturbed leaves and torn ground where it had gone.
Hiker has daylight sighting in Grove Creek Canyon
The witness was hiking into Grove Creek Canyon in the afternoon when they saw a large reddish animal on the canyon rim about 100 feet above. The figure was described as about as tall as a large man and was looking east up the canyon for about five seconds. It then turned and walked out of view, and was not seen again during the rest of the hike.
