The witness was having morning coffee at home with his wife and looking into the woods behind the house. He claims a tall, pitch-black ape-like figure walked from south to north in view for about twenty feet, erect but leaning slightly forward with long arms swinging. His wife did not see it, and he found no footprints in the scant snow on frozen ground.

Witness heard screams coming from the direction of the hay field.
The witness arrived at a relative's farm in the early morning darkness to pick the relative up for work. After getting out of the car, the witness heard a scream from the hay field and then again from the other side of the house, but saw nothing. The screams stopped when the resident came outside.
