Evening sighting at a cornfield near New Philadelphia
In June 2008 around 9:30 p.m., the witness was walking with a child along a road toward a farm when a strange high-pitched howl and musty odor were noticed. A tall, hairy human-like figure emerged from a cornfield and followed at a distance as they hurried toward a waiting vehicle. When vehicle headlights were turned on, the figure paused, vocalized again, and retreated quickly into the corn. The waiting adult also heard the vocalization.

The witness and companions were night-fishing when they heard an extremely loud scream from the hillside described as woman-like but different. After a flashlight search revealed nothing, the sound repeated three more times followed by loud pain-like howling. The witness reports sitting on a deer stand by a field with relatives during a sunny day. The witness looked west and saw a tall reddish-brown animal with dark deep-set eyes, facial hair, and a broad forehead. After looking away briefly, the witness looked back and the animal was gone.

Two boys were hiking and exploring in remote hardwood forest in the afternoon when a rock struck a tree beside them. They looked uphill about 50 feet and saw a dark, roughly six-foot-tall figure watching them intently with a hunched, swaying posture. They reported an overpowering odor, snapping twigs, loud crashing through trees, a low growl, heavy footsteps they could feel, and a loud thud. As they ran back to their car, the reporter glimpsed huge hairy legs and a large hand with long dark nails, then they drove away quickly after the car lurched.

The figure was breaking and twisting branches from small trees while moving its upper body. After watching briefly and deciding it was neither a bear nor a human, the witness left the area quickly and ended the hunt.
