Road crossing sighting just after sundown on Hwy 108 between Strawberry and Beardsley Lake
The witness was riding in a car following friends toward a lake campground just after dark. Friends in the lead car reported something crossing the road after a bridge, and about a minute later the witness saw a tall hair-covered figure in brush beside the road that turned to look at the car before walking toward the river and into the woods. No one else in the witness's car saw it, but both occupants of the lead car said they saw it.

Late at night the witness was driving with family when the headlights revealed a creature standing on a rock beside the road. The creature was initially bent over facing the car, then very slowly rose upright while looking toward the occupants as they passed. The witness described a thin, dark-haired figure with long arms and an elderly appearance.

Two men returned at night to a fenced rural property above Sonora after viewing a motorcycle for sale. A tall, wide human-like figure stepped from brush a short distance away, looked at them, then crossed the clearing toward a shed in a few strides while making a huff sound. One man got into their truck while the other backed onto the hood with a knife, and they later spent a sleepless night guarding the cabin door.
Large prints found below Cold Springs
On a Sunday night, repeated shrieks were heard in brushland where a roughly 10-foot-tall grotesque man-like figure was reported. Large prints measuring about 14 to 17 inches were found nearby over the next two days and were followed through a subdivision, park and camp area. A law enforcement leader later described the tracks as shoe prints made before a light snowfall and suggested a mountain lion as a possible source of the noises, while noting fresh lion tracks and no cabin break-ins.

An anonymous caller told the sheriff's office that a roughly nine- to ten-foot-tall human-like figure was moving in the road near an old gravel pit. A second man on the same call said large tracks had been seen. Responding deputies did not see the figure but stayed in the area for hours listening to loud shrieking that moved around them.

A group camping with horses heard the horses startle something at dusk and then saw a huge brown figure about 6 feet tall running extremely fast across a meadow away from the horses in a cloud of dust. One tethered horse was so frightened it jumped over another horse. The witness concluded the figure could not have been a bear because of the sound it made and the way it ran.
