Couple hear strange nighttime screams near Twain Harte
The witness and his wife had just finished dinner at home when he let two small dogs out after sunset. He then heard a loud scream and rustling, called for the dogs to be let in, but only one returned and the other was never found. He contacted wildlife authorities and continued to hear similar sounds from the forest behind the home.

A group camping with horses heard the horses startle something at dusk and then saw a huge brown figure about 6 feet tall running extremely fast across a meadow away from the horses in a cloud of dust. One tethered horse was so frightened it jumped over another horse. The witness concluded the figure could not have been a bear because of the sound it made and the way it ran.
