Man remembers seeing an animal move through a ravine near Yosemite
The witness was camping with four companions near Sonora Pass at dusk when the group heard loud crashing from a nearby ravine. The witness then watched a dark, hair-covered figure run upright across granite rocks and through fallen trees at high speed, breaking branches as it moved. The companions retreated in fear while the witness moved closer to observe to within about 100 feet.

The witness was surveying for amphibians downstream of Bloomer Lake when a black hair-covered bipedal figure was seen moving through the woods for two or three steps before disappearing from view. Very late at night while drifting toward sleep, the witness heard heavy footsteps moving around the tent and became frightened. The witness ran to a companion's tent; the companions reported hearing nothing, and the night was noted as unusually quiet with no crickets. No visual observation was made.

Two men returned at night to a fenced rural property above Sonora after viewing a motorcycle for sale. A tall, wide human-like figure stepped from brush a short distance away, looked at them, then crossed the clearing toward a shed in a few strides while making a huff sound. One man got into their truck while the other backed onto the hood with a knife, and they later spent a sleepless night guarding the cabin door.

Early in the evening they heard two loud low-pitched screams from different directions, then later watched a pair of red eyes about six to seven feet off the ground for about an hour. Later that night something struck the side of their truck-mounted camper hard enough to shake the truck, but they found nothing outside.

When the witness was a child, they were walking in the woods with two other children when they noticed a brown conical-shaped head with deep-set eyes watching them from behind a tree uphill about 100-120 feet away. The shape remained motionless while they watched it for about a minute. The younger companion became upset and the children ran from the area. The witness remains uncertain what was seen.

The witness and two companions were snow camping in a tent when they were awakened in the early morning by loud footsteps in snow, puffing and grunting, and repeated piercing screams from a ridge above camp. The sounds moved around the campsite for about an hour before fading as the source walked away over the ridge. The group kept watch until daylight, then packed up and left quickly without seeing the source or approaching the ridge to look for tracks.

After midnight while getting ready for bed in a cabin near Pinecrest Lake, the witness heard extremely loud high-pitched screaming from behind the cabin that lasted over a minute. The witness judged the sound to be very close and unlike any known animal, ruling out cats, humans, and bears at the time. Months later the witness read a description of similar screaming and associated the sound with Bigfoot.

The witness and his father camped to build blinds and saw three sets of tall red eyeshine outside the fire circle that dimmed when lit. Later something struck their truck camper hard enough to knock items off shelves, then a loud woman-like scream sounded nearby with an answering scream where the eyes had been, followed by movement around the camper all night.

One tethered horse was so frightened it jumped over another horse. The witness concluded the figure could not have been a bear because of the sound it made and the way it ran.

At about age 12-13 the witness returned alone to a stream and rock in dense woods behind the campground. From about 15 feet away she saw a long dark-haired arm with long fingers wrapped around a pine beside the trail, then a flat dark face peer out and make eye contact. She fled past the tree back to the family trailer and stayed there for the rest of the vacation without telling her parents at the time.
