Recollection of a late night road crossing while driving near Branchville

Late at night in summer 1977, the witness was driving a van with four companions back to camp when a tall bipedal figure crossed the road in front of them. Headlights illuminated its shape and eyes as it moved from a low area toward a mountain embankment. The driver stopped and searched the roadside with a light, heard movement in the brush but found no tracks, and later reported the incident to police.
