The witness and a relative watched a tall, reddish-brown bipedal figure cross a road between forested areas. The figure moved upright with swinging arms, covering the ditch-to-ditch distance in two strides. The encounter occurred in the evening before dusk at close range.

The witness was traveling by car with a companion at night when a small hairy creature crossed the road ahead of them. The creature paused in the middle of the road to look toward the vehicle, then leapt into an adjacent swamp and disappeared. It was described as about five feet tall with dark brown hair and an unusual gait that was difficult to imitate.
