Two rock climbers hear wood knocks and footsteps in the early morning at a trailhead
Two hikers arrived at a trailhead in the early morning to climb and heard knocks from uphill and downhill, followed by stick-breaking sounds like footsteps. They knocked back and received responses, filmed the exchange, then heard further knocks and repetitive rock-on-tree tapping as they started up the trail. They saw nothing in the dense woods and eventually left.

The witness and a companion stopped off a forest road so the witness could target shoot while the companion waited at the truck. After the witness returned to the road, both heard repeated very loud cracking snaps from a wooded hilltop about 100 yards away, spaced about 30 seconds apart, along with movement and bark-ripping sounds. The witness walked partway up the hill filming with a cell phone and captured at least one loud crack before returning to the truck and leaving.

The witness and a companion camped beside a river and heard loud yelling that dropped into a groan or growl, followed hours later by closer calls, heavy footfalls, rustling on a hillside, and a large splash in the river. They could see nothing by flashlight from their vehicle. Shortly after, occupants of a passing car stopped and said a massive hairy figure had just run across the road in front of them.

Late at night the witness walked home alone along a familiar wooded trail and heard something moving parallel in the brush, breathing heavily. When the witness stopped the sounds stopped, and when walking resumed the follower kept pace. The witness ran toward home and the follower pursued onto gravel and pavement on two feet while making low growls and calls and trying to cut the witness off. At the house the witness's dog confronted the unseen pursuer, which halted very close before withdrawing into the brush.

Two people driving in a snowy forested area found large bare footprints about 18 inches long along the road. After parking and making loud knocks with logs, they heard a distant bark, human-like whistling from multiple directions, and later fast bipedal footsteps. A companion reported seeing something cross the road during the footsteps and hearing a branch break nearby. Feeling they were being approached, both left the area around 12:30.
Rocks thrown at two hikers on Heather Lake Trail
Around 2001 the witness and a companion hiked Heather Lake Trail in the late afternoon as the last hikers on the trail. While taking turns stepping away to urinate near the top, each had a rock thrown at them from an unseen source. As they hurried and then ran back down, they heard heavy stomping and breaking branches moving parallel to them, and another rock was thrown after they briefly hid behind a tree, prompting them to flee to their car frightened.
Thumping noise heard at night, footprints found in morning
Late at night while camping in a trailer, the witness heard loud heavy footsteps pass by outside. The next morning the witness found about 20 large human-like footprints passing the campsite, including one that pressed into a rubber mat at the trailer steps. No casts or photos were made, and no other sounds or odors were noted that weekend.

Four people sleeping outdoors beside a river were awakened around 2 a.m. by loud screaming from across the river. The source paced the far bank, crossed the river, snapped a fallen log, approached within 10 feet while screaming and giving off a strong odor, then recrossed the river and left up the hill over about 25 minutes. Nothing was seen because it was pitch dark.
Man describes history of incidents around his home outside Stanwood
In October 2006 on a dark evening, a relative was warming up and moving a car in the witness's front yard when the headlights revealed a tall bipedal creature with red eyes standing by a maple tree and rocking. The creature turned and ran into the forest, and the relative heard it moving through woods and then through water with an echo. A later retracing indicated the water was a large culvert under the main road leading toward an undeveloped green belt.
