Camper awakes to a very large hairy figure
The witness reports waking in the back of a truck at a campground in the pre-dawn hours and seeing a large dark form leaving the canopy window. She looked out and watched a very large, dark, hairy bipedal figure move quickly uphill into dense pine forest. Afterward she woke her companion, both noticed a dank musky odor, and they promptly left the camp.

The witness and two companions were camped by a remote lake after dusk when they noticed amber eyes in the woods up the hill. After rocks were thrown, the animal stood and moved toward them on two legs, then circled their camp for about three hours while staying outside the firelight. The witness described it as 7 to 8 feet tall, agile on two legs, and curious rather than aggressive, and it left after fuel thrown on the fire made a flare. No tracks or other sign were found the next morning.

The witness was walking north along a highway in daylight when he noticed a tall, hairy figure standing in brush across the road. They looked at each other for less than a minute and the witness did not feel threatened. When he glanced toward a relative's driveway and looked back, the figure was gone.
Hunter/Logger has a sighting in a closed logging area near Hilt
The witness returned to a secluded previously logged area to hunt with a dog. About 100 yards away, a dark brown hair-covered figure was seen crouching behind brush and staring at the witness and dog. The dog froze with raised fur and refused to advance. After a brief look through a rifle scope noting human-like eyes and black facial skin, the witness smelled strong body odor and quickly left the area.

The witness and a relative were camping in a remote wooded area when the witness was awakened around 3 a.m. by noises around the truck, including an ice chest being knocked over and a violent impact that rocked the vehicle, followed by a loud piercing scream-like sound. The relative also woke, and in the morning they found the camp in disarray with a dozen eggs missing, the empty carton later found away from camp, and a dent in the truck. No creature was seen and no tracks were found, and the pair stayed up until morning before leaving.

In summer 1977 the witness and a companion were backpacking and camped at a trail junction near a creek in forested mountain country. In the middle of the night they were awakened by loud crashing of logs and rocks being hurled in the streambed below. Bipedal footsteps then approached up the slope to behind nearby trees, with heavy breathing heard high in the air and a humph sound after the witness shouted, before the creature walked away parallel to the creek.

A pregnant witness took her two young sons uphill to clear the screen on a water holding tank intake. A cat with them arched and screeched, drawing her attention to a huge black man-like figure with long flowing hair. The figure crouched then stood and ran uphill bent over, weaving around branches quickly and quietly. She grabbed the children and ran back downhill.

A camp counselor leading about two dozen children on a backcountry hike reported encountering an erect, reddish-brown hairy creature at close range on a ridge in daylight. The creature watched the group for about a minute, then fled upslope on two legs. That night at a lakeside camp the group reported a strong skunk-like odor, distant landslides, a small dim green light, snapping branches, and large shadowy figures moving among trees for about two hours. Activity reportedly ceased after two counselors left to seek medical help for an ill child.

The family was finishing work at their bee yard in the evening when the father noticed a man-like figure standing by a tall stump. A very loud yipping yell was heard twice, the family dog reacted fearfully, and nearby coyotes fell silent. The figure loped away with dangling arms and long, sure-footed strides, and comparison to the stump afterward led the father to estimate it at about nine feet tall.

Two children walking on a dirt road by a clearing saw three bipedal hairy figures of different sizes about 50 yards away. The figures watched the children for about two minutes, then turned and walked into the woods, and the children ran home. A family camping in a primitive riverside area heard an extremely loud, shrill scream from near their trash area about 50 yards away after paper bags flared up the campfire. The sound moved rapidly downriver for several minutes, fading to a deep growl, while the adult dogs whimpered and the family became terrified. The father packed up camp that night and drove the family home, and the family later felt the sound matched a purported Sasquatch vocalization heard on television.
