Multi-witness road-crossing sighting on Hwy 96 outside Happy Camp
The witness was driving east on Highway 96 at night with his daughter when headlights caught a hairy biped coming down an embankment toward the road. He stopped and watched it take a few long strides to the centerline, look toward the car, then leap off the pavement and disappear. He described it as about six feet tall, very stocky with long arms and dark brown hair, and noted its eyes did not reflect like deer eyes.

The witness was driving to the campground after work when a large hair-covered biped carrying a fawn stepped onto the road. The creature paused to look toward the truck, then ran up a steep embankment and disappeared. A passenger riding with the witness did not see the creature.
