While driving to work in the dark, the witness noticed a bulky shape by the roadside that he first mistook for dumped furniture. As he drove past, it stood up from a squat and faced him, revealing a tall, muscular, hairy chest and arm through the car window. He passed within mirror distance and then saw in the rearview mirror that the figure was gone.

Early on June 30, 2008, the witness was carrying trash to the curb in the dark when a loud, long ascending whoop ending in a booming oop was heard from a treeline across the street near a lake. The sound seemed aimed at the witness, carried very far, and did not match any known animal, causing fear and retreat to the garage. An owl called shortly afterward from the same area but sounded distinctly different.

The witness and a relative left camp near a lake at night to collect firewood in a clearing. The witness heard a growl and then saw a tall dark upright figure that stood up and shook small trees. The relative came over, then both fled back to camp. The witness said the figure did not match any identifiable animal and fit descriptions of Bigfoot.

Two companions walking at night to a school dance heard loud crashing steps near a wooded sanctuary. They turned and saw two trees being parted high above the ground. The witness states he never saw the source and both fled home in fear.

In fall 1974 the witness and a relative stopped while driving back roads looking for deer and watched through a rifle scope from about a quarter-mile away. They described a large black creature pulling leaves from a branch over the road while two much smaller creatures played in puddles nearby. After watching several minutes they left over safety concerns, returning a week later to find the branch was over 11 feet high.

Two companions were sleeping at a lakeside camp when one was awakened around 4 a.m. by snapping brush. A tall reddish-brown furry biped entered camp, bent over a parked motorcycle and gently touched it with both hands while ignoring the witnesses, then stood and walked away through thick brush. The witnesses waited, fled on the motorcycle, and later returned by car to retrieve their gear.
