Two people driving over a mountain pass in daylight saw a large hairy biped running diagonally up a hillside toward forest cover. The figure was described as broad, at least seven feet tall, with dark brownish hair, moving fast on two legs with long strides and using an arm to pull on trees. After losing sight of it, they stopped at a creek crossing a mile or two away and felt watched for about an hour before leaving.

The witness and the witness's mother were driving slowly on a mountain road looking for cattle when the witness noticed movement behind pine trees. They stopped and saw a tall reddish-brown figure standing by a tree, which then turned and moved quickly away into thick brush with long hairy arms swinging. Frightened, they turned the truck around and drove quickly back to the house where they told a relative.

The figure paused briefly in front of a warning sign, looked toward the vehicle, then went over the opposite embankment out of view. The witness slowed briefly then left in fear and later returned in daylight to find large indentations descending the embankment.
