Late afternoon sighting by a deer hunter on her lease near Angelina National Forest
The witness was deer hunting from a tripod stand in late afternoon when she spotted a tall hair-covered figure crossing toward a pine thicket about 400 yards away. She viewed it through her rifle scope, saw it glance toward her, then watched it continue into the thicket. Shaken, she left the stand, her ATV stalled, she fired distress shots, and a nearby hunter helped her return to camp.
Encounter on Toledo Bend
While fishing from a boat near shore, the witness smelled a strong musky odor for several minutes, then spotted a tall hair-covered figure partly hidden behind a short tree at the treeline. The figure remained still for a couple minutes, then stood, stepped into the open to look at the boat, and walked slowly uphill into denser forest. A companion in the boat also smelled the odor but did not see the figure.
