Family driving a rural two-track have a late day encounter north of Higgins Lake
The witness and two daughters were driving a pickup on a forest two-track in the evening to gather rocks for a fire pit. A tall black-haired biped ran across the trail in front of the vehicle in a forward-leaning run with arms hanging low, followed about 15 feet behind by a large gray wolf. Both continued up the hill on the far side and disappeared, and a next-day search found no tracks because of overnight heavy rain.

The witness was camped alone in thick woods before hunting season when, after dark in rain, they heard an extremely loud scream followed by guttural grunts from nearby in the woods. After shouting and banging tools together, they heard something large moving through the woods as if running bipedally. The witness retreated to the truck for the night and recorded video that showed nothing, finding nothing disturbed in the morning.

A 15-year-old walking home from school through the woods felt uneasy and then saw a dark upright figure standing on the trail ahead near a swamp. The figure watched from behind a tree, then stepped into the trail and disappeared into the swamp after less than a minute, leaving the witness temporarily unable to move. The witness later examined the spot, found no tracks on hard ground, and estimated the being at nearly nine feet tall based on a branch above its head and a roughly five-foot step.

Two occupants driving south in a truck at dusk saw a tall hair-covered figure cross the road in a wooded area. The figure moved upright from west to east with swinging arms while slightly hunched. The witnesses slowed near the crossing spot but were too unnerved to get out and investigate.

Four teenagers walking north from a family hunting camp stopped on a steep two-track when they saw a tall, broad, dark figure standing in the middle of the road at the hilltop staring at them. After watching for about one to two minutes, they turned and ran back to camp without seeing what it did. Poorly defined pushed-in depressions were later noticed in soft gravel and sand in the general area.

The passenger described a close, brief view in the headlights as the animal passed the van and left the roadway in a few steps. An oncoming vehicle left the road into a ditch during the encounter. After crouching to observe, the witness noticed a strong foul odor and saw a large white furry leg about twenty-five yards away.
