The witness was driving slowly on a rural gravel road at night when bright eyes were seen beside the road. A very tall, heavy, hair-covered biped stepped onto the road about 20 feet ahead, walked across, paused to stare at the vehicle for a few seconds, then continued crossing. The witness rolled up the windows and locked the doors out of fear and reported no unusual odor.

The witness was riding with family while driving at night on Highway 17 when a tall hair-covered figure was seen standing on the center line. The witness was riding in the back of a military truck with their platoon traveling on dirt roads to an overnight guard assignment. At a T-intersection, the witness saw a tall brown-haired figure on the road about 30-40 feet away that looked toward the vehicle and then ambled across into the woods. The sighting lasted about 10 seconds and no one else in the truck was awake to see it. The witness was dropped at a remote bridge site about 10 minutes later and spent the night there.

In 1976 the witness was riding a motorcycle alone on a dirt trail after leaving friends who were jumping a ditch. He stopped after glimpsing what he thought was another motorcycle moving through trees to the south. The object proved to be a tall white-haired biped that stopped about 25 yards away on the trail, faced and snarled at him before walking south again, after which he fled back to his friends.

After school the witness was playing in the backyard behind the home near woods and a lake when he noticed a dark hair-covered figure squatting by a tree and apparently watching him. Startled, he ran inside to tell his mother he had seen a gorilla, though he knew it was not actually a gorilla. When he looked back the figure was gone.

Adults who ran outside reported seeing a tall, dark-haired biped walking away toward the treeline, with an additional young witness seeing only its back as it entered the woods. An adult aimed a rifle but lowered it without firing, later saying he feared it might be a person.
