The witness spent the evening relaxing near the harbor, waded in the lake, then walked back toward the car through a clearing. While walking, the witness heard twig snaps and sounds of trees being pushed that stayed parallel and created a feeling of being watched. Shortly after driving away, the witness saw a tall black hair-covered figure standing at the treeline staring with eyes that tracked the car, stopped briefly in shock, then left the area without returning.
Woman remembers childhood sighting near Rogers City
The witness and an older sister rode bikes along a road beside a dense wooded lot. They stopped after noticing a dark stump-like shape in the middle of the lot and, when wind moved long hair, realized it was a large hairy figure sitting cross-legged apparently asleep. They described a flat apelike face and long limbs and fled quickly to their house where they told a parent. They said they avoided the road and thicket afterward.
